Chapter 9 – Connie

I’m so glad my daughter came to church with me. She’s been so worried about me and I hate having her worry. We sat in our pew at church and listened to the pastor preach about forgiveness. “Now you see forgiveness is a choice and you can make that choice quickly after something happens or take more time with it. Mark 11:25 clearly states ‘And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.’ While, there isn't a set guideline for when to forgive, there are some events which may take longer for you to process.”

Tiphanie shouted out “Amen,” while a few caught the Holy Ghost and waved their fans into the air back and forth yelling, “preach pastor!”

“In those cases, forgiveness will come more slowly, but the end result should be that you've made peace with the situation. If you forgive quickly without processing things at all, you may go over and over the event afterward. Chances are you will bring it up again or hold it against that person somehow, either by being short, angry, or even avoiding them. Once you make the choice to forgive, you need to let it go and start from scratch.” Tip felt like the pastor was talking to her. She won’t exactly come out and say what’s wrong but I know my baby and I know something is bothering her.
